New Website Procedures

All new organizational websites need to first be requested using the Web Request form. The completion of this form establishes a reservation for the web hosting space and domain name.

All VCU websites must be compliant with VCU Web Standards which includes compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA conformance level.

Pre-build Out Procedures

All new website designs and redesigns must be approved by University Relations. All new template systems need to be submitted to Web Services via Service Desk for review and approval, checklist item 2.2.1.

Go Live Procedures

All websites must be approved by University Relations and Web Services before going live.

All new web applications must be approved by Web Services before going live.

Please allow 3-5 business days for review when submitting a website to go live. Please allow for a minimum of 5 business days when submitting a web application to go live.
